US issues warning of attack in Riyadh
The American Embassy in the Saudi Kingdom is worried about renewed attacks on housing complexes for Westerners in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, claiming one compound has been under surveillance by "terrorists".
Embassy spokeswoman Carol Kalin said that the Seder Village compound in Riyadh has been under "active surveillance" by "terrorists" and that other housing complexes may also be targeted.
Kalin said the embassy had barred its American employees and dependents from visiting housing compounds in Riyadh between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., "except for official business," she said.
Kalin further added the embassy introduced the restriction following "ongoing consultations with Saudi officials."
In May, three compounds for foreigners were attacked in Riyadh, leaving 35 people killed including the nine assailants. (Albawaba.com)
