US soldier killed in ambush west of Baghdad
Iraqi resistance fighters ambushed a US military convoy west of Baghdad Monday, killing one soldier, the US military said.
The attack with small arms fire took place near Habbaniyah, some 80 kilometers west of the Iraqi capital, the military added in a statement. One critically injured soldier was evacuated, but he later died of his wounds.
Three Iraqis were captured following the attack and were questioned, the military said. (Albawaba.com)
