US suspends non-lethal assistance to northern Syria
The United States has officially suspended all of its non-lethal assistance to areas in northern Syria, according to Reuters reports from Wednesday. The US decision comes in response to Islam Front forces' seizure of the headquarters and warehouses of the opposition's Supreme Military Council.
"As a result of this situation, the United States has suspended all further deliveries of non-lethal assistance into northern Syria," a US embassy spokesperson said.
She added that humanitarian aid would not be affected by the suspension since it was distributed through international and non-governmental organizations.
