Visa to Organize Africa Fraud Forum for Industry Experts
Visa will organize the Visa Africa Fraud Forum in Tunisia on December 5-6 to showcase the company’s innovative fraud prevention technology and provide a forum for industry experts and local fraud authorities to share industry best practices and knowledge on fraud prevention. The Visa Africa Fraud Forum aims to train and develop measures to fight card fraud, heighten vigilance among banks and law enforcement agencies of different African countries, create a fraud database, foster information exchange and encourage greater cooperation within the international payment network.
“Preventing fraud to protect Cardholders & Merchants have always been Visa’s highest priority,” said Tarek Elhousseiny, Visa’s General Manager North and West Africa. “It is with that in mind that Visa has undertaken to hold the Visa Africa Fraud Forum to bring together key industry players and Law enforcement bodies to discuss and exchange experiences in order to improve payment security for the industry at large.”
Over the last three years, Visa has invested substantially in working with banks and law enforcement authorities on fraud control and prevention, including fraud forums across the African continent. Representatives from Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Togo, Benin, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Cameroun and Mali will be coming to the Fraud Forum in Tunis to present, discuss and analyse the latest fraud issues, developments and technologies.
