The three suspects that were seen wheeling heavy bags into the airport have been named. Belgium's prosecutors says the two brothers likely killed themselves in a twin suicide attack while the final man fled.

The blasts at the airport and metro station which killed at least 20 people occurred four days after the arrest in Brussels of a suspected participant in the November Daesh attacks in Paris that killed 130 people. Belgian police had been on alert for any reprisal action.

A Daesh flag was found next to the body of a suspect killed in a shootout during an operation on Tuesday. The suspect was described as a man of Algerian origin who is known to police for a previous theft offence.
