The Saudi government is launching a water-conservation campaign to help ensure that the Kingdom's water shortage is exacerbated as little as possible during the current drought, according to Al-Jazirah newspaper. The Director General of the Water and Sewerage Authority, Mr. Khaled Al-Bawardy, said the campaign would last all year. One part of the campaign consists of conservation literature such as booklets, stickers and advertisements about proper water use. The second aspect consists of installing efficient and effective water technologies in houses, public parks and other facilities that consume a lot of water.
