Western Region Development Council awarded ISO 9001 2008 Certification for Quality Management Systems
The Western Region Development Council (WRDC) – the central coordinating body leading development and promoting opportunity in Al Gharbia, the Western Region of Abu Dhabi – announced today it has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001 2008 in Quality Management Systems. The award follows the successful passing of the final phase of an external audit carried out by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) Ltd.
Since its inception, the WRDC has been committed continuously to enhancing its performance and following strict methodologies. This process will enable the Council to achieve its strategic objectives in the development of Al Gharbia, the Western Region of Abu Dhabi. The ISO certification recognises that the WRDC is constantly improving the provision of its services, enabling better teamwork, and enhancing the performance of staff by holding ongoing training for all WRDC employees. Obtaining the ISO certification is a further success on WRDC's record of achievements, and adds to its existing accomplishments derived from the various projects and programmes initiated and undertaken by the Council to aid the development of Al Gharbia both at the social and economic levels. H.E. Mohamed Hamad Bin Azzan Al Mazrouei, Director General of WRDC received the international certification from Mr. Basem Obaid, ME & AFRICA Area Manager of LRQA.
H.E. Mohamed Hamad Bin Azzan Al Mazrouei, Director General of WRDC stated that:
"I am delighted the Council has been awarded this certificate, which covers all of our activities and departments, after passing a series of external and internal quality assurance audits. We are committed to training staff to conduct internal audits periodically in order to maintain the efficiency of our quality management system and bring further improvement to the Council's activities and initiatives. This certification will continue to help us to provide the residents of Al Gharbia with a higher quality of life, and the businesses there with the help and support that they need to be successful and further enhance their confidence in the services we provide."
