Houthi rebels protest in northern Yemen, demand resignation of government
Thousands of Houthi rebels gathered in northern Yemen to protest the central government and demand its resignation on Friday.
The protestors accused the government of corruption and shouted “down with the government” as they marched down the street with assault rifles and vehicles mounted with rocket launchers, AFP reports.
The rebels were given permission to demonstrate in the city of Omran after promising that there would be no violence.
The protests remained peaceful as promised.
