Yemen president: Iran government not supporting rebels
Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh has affirmed the government strong intention to eliminate terror and rebellion elements in Saada governorate. In an interview with the Arab ban satellite channel, MBC, Saleh said that Yemeni citizens are supporting the army in its fight against al-Houthis.
He conveyed that there are documents proving foreign support coming from some Iranian sources. According to him, this was also confirmed by some arrested Houthi members. "But we don't accuse the Iranian government," the Yemeni leader stated. The president denied that the Saada war is a regional war as "Yemen can not be a place for others to war in," noting that Yemen has no relation with the disagreement between the Saudi Kingdom and Iran.
He made clear al-Qaeda and Houthis are not linked to each other but each supports the other to harm the country's security and stability.
