On the objectification of women and a shark in Sharm El Sheikh

A Jordanian project called "ObjecDefy" hopes to make men more respectful towards women.
About "ObjecDefy"
Jordanian blogger Roba Assi writes about the street harassment of women in Jordan, and a program called “ObjecDefy,” which is hoping to air documentaries on the issue and provoke women into standing up for their dignity.
The article points out that if everyone women spoke out, or made a scene, the general practice of cat-calling and verbal abuse would happen far less often.

An Egyptian blogger asks “Who let the Sharks out!”
Egyptian Chronicles follows local media coverage in relation to the sharks in Sharm El Sheikh, and points out how it’s strange the issue is more important than Parliamentary coverage.
According to the blogger a speaker on the popular news program “Egypt Today” suggested the sharks were “monitored and controlled” to attack Egyptian shores using an Israeli GPS device… the intent being to destroy the powerful Egyptian tourism industry.
Another theory is a ship which threw dead sheep in the sea two months ago. The piece ends with condolences to the families involved in the attacks, and by pointing out that there was another less well reported shark attack 5 months ago as well as a year earlier, in 2009.
