Gaza Strip: Israel kills five Palestinians in two incidents
Israel on Tuesday killed at least five Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including three by a missile fired after a rocket shooting at Israel, Palestinian rescue workers said. According to Reuters, Palestinian medics said Israel had fired in the afternoon a missile at northern Gaza Strip, killing three Palestinians.
Earlier, Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinian fighters who crossed into Israel from the Gaza Strip, following a brief shootout. The Israeli troops emerged unscathed from the battle, according to press reports. Israeli police said roadblocks were erected in sothern Israel after the reported infiltration from the Strip. Residents in the area were ordered to stay indoors, Haaretz reported. Islamic Jihad identified the two men killed as members of its military arm.
