Inline with its profound commitment towards the local community, Aqaba Container Terminal recently held a free medical day at Al Rahma and Qatar villages in Wadi Araba providence.
The free medical day was organized by a group of ACT employees in collaboration with several local community organizations as well as the medical center of Al Rahma village. Special medical rooms were set for members of the local community to attend free medical check-ups by specialized doctors, in addition to providing the required medication to the villages’ 2,500 inhabitants.
The medical day also included scheduling regular check-ups and medical examinations to the students of Al Rahma School.
The event was attended by Soren Hansen, the CEO of Aqaba Container Terminal, along with members of the executive management team. “We at ACT constantly ensure that our efforts are directed at empowering and supporting the local communities in every aspect we can, we are always on the watch for those less fortunate villages especially in the governorate of Aqaba”, Hansen commented.
It is worth mentioning that ACT is running and supporting several key social programmes in the city and governorate of Aqaba. The programmes include sponsoring two schools as part of Madrasati initiative, in addition to the support of various medical centers and social clubs in Aqaba.
