Syria: Razan Ghazzawi Arrested… Again

Reading like a headline from December 2011, much talked about Syrian blogger Razan Ghazzawi has been arrested again by Syrian authorities. In spite of disbelief, the news has spread throughout the Internet and different media outlets. "This is the second time Razan Ghazzawi is arrested by the Syrian authorities. She was first detained in December 2011 at the Syrian-Jordanian border when she was about to attend a conference on freedom of expression online."

R.I.P. Anthony Shadid

The media and blogger community is mourning the death of respected and admired award-winning journalist Anthony Shadid. He died in the field while working in Syria. Ironically, he didn't pass away for the reasons you would think. The culprit this time was an asthma attack. "A great man passed on this week. Some people contribute to humankind, but others contribute.
