Algeria and Argentina signed an accord Thursday aimed at boosting and protecting investments, Algerian officials said. The accord was signed by Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem and his Argentinian counterpart Aldaberto Rodriguez Giavarini.
They also agreed to hold regular consultations in the political, economic and cultural areas.
Bilateral trade last year totalled some 120 million dollars, tipped heavily in favor of Argentina, which sold some 110 million dollars' worth of goods to Algeria, mainly food, chemical and paper products.
