The publishing sector within Dubai Media City (DMC) has rapidly developed since the media free zone’s inception 18 months ago says its CEO, Abdulhamid Juma. In just over 1 ½ years DMC has attracted over 100 publishing companies, a key factor in the rapid development of the regional industry said Juma.
“Previously, a number of regional restrictions barred new ventures from establishing in the region. DMC’s regulations have allowed companies to cut through unnecessary bureaucracy to be able to operate with ease,” he added.
According to Juma, while the Middle East’s publishing sector is still really only servicing a regional audience, the advent of ventures such as DMC will create greater opportunities internationally. — (menareport.com)
