An Arab-German economic meeting will be held in Cairo at the end of June 2001 to promote bilateral trade relations, under the title “Privatization in Egypt”.
Various ministers of commerce, economy and transport from the Arab world, as well as heads of Arab financial funds will meet with German businessmen to discuss increasing investments and initiating various joint projects.
This is the last in a series of three meetings, which were held to discuss Arab-German cooperation. The first was conducted last month and dealt with the affects of the falling prices in the Asian stock markets on the Egyptian stock market and its investors. The second Arab-German forum, held in Germany, discussed the rubber and plastic industry.
Last year, trade between the Arab world and Germany amounted to $23 billion. ― (MENA Report)
