Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that it is partnering with Etisalat, the leading operator in Middle East and North Africa, to establish the Application Innovation Center (AIC), which will increase the Etisalat’s competitiveness and sustain its business growth by introducing more customized solutions and applications. Mohammad Hassan Omran, Chairman of Etisalat, and Madam Sun Yafang, Chairperson of Huawei attended the soft-opening of the new center at the Etisalat-Huawei Summit in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Huawei and Etisalat also signed an agreement for further collaboration between the companies and to enhance Etisalat’s service offerings to its customers. Under this agreement, as a strategic partner, Huawei will continue to support Etisalat’s global expansion in the future.

Following the strategic partnership agreement signed in May, 2008, Etisalat and Huawei held the first Etisalat-Huawei Summit this year to review the partnership and explore more areas for co-operation.
