Trading on the UAE Stock Exchange was relatively quiet yesterday, August 16, with modest trading volumes in both the DFM and in the OTC markets.
As little as 50,000 shares were exchanged in a total of 20 deals, with a transacted value of Dh460,000.
Emaar was among the few stocks showing activity in the DFM, while Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Dubai Investments Company (DIC) had few registered transactions, though both ended the trading day without a change.
Opening at Dh22.50, the Emaar share attempted to regain lost ground before it finally closed at Dh22.60. Trading included merely 2,700 shares that changed hands across five deals.
DIC saw the highest trading volume, with as many as 43,000 shares moving across the counter with a total value of Dh310,000. The company share closed at Dh7.20, after showing relative weakness early in the session.
DIB was the only other share to experience moderate activity in the official bourse — though the stock's price remained unchanged at Dh18.30, having had eight trades of 5,000 shares. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
