Jeddah, October 2010: Continuing the Young Professionals training and capabilities development program, implemented by GACA and KAIA together with Fraport, the management service provider at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, the third group of high potential trainees from Jeddah has arrived in Germany last week.
The nine individually selected KAIA employees, aged between 27 and 39, will spend three months at Fraport headquarters, Frankfurt Airport, undergoing intensive specialized courses to upskill their capabilities to the highest international standards.
“The Young Professionals program is proving to be a great success and we are very pleased with the results achieved by the first two groups of employees trained at Frankfurt Airport and who are now contributing their advanced skills to KAIA,” said Eng. Mazen Khashoggi, Director General of KAIA. “The new group continues the seamless progress of the program and by the end of this year more than 500 KAIA employees will have attended courses in Jeddah. In addition, during the next twelve months, over 100 executives, managers and young trainees will be deployed to other Fraport airports around the world for individual training.”
Speaking from Fraport in Frankfurt, Mr. Lutz Siebert, Head of International Leadership Development, said: ”It is our great pleasure to welcome these highly motivated trainees from KAIA and we are especially pleased to see that they come with an already accomplished set of skills and are able to quickly adapt to the extremely demanding work ethic required to take them up to the next level and beyond.”
Acting as spokesperson for the new group, Mr. Raid Ismail, one of the outbound trainees said: “We are all very enthusiastic of being to Frankfurt and we all appreciate GACA, KAIA and Fraport for this great opportunity to participate in the Young Professional training program. We are all aiming to raise our performance levels and come back home to Saudi Arabia better equipped to play our part in making KAIA one of the world’s greatest airports.”
The training and capabilities development program is a key part of the plans for the expansion of the airport, which are based on KAIA’s commitment to corporate, social and environmental responsibility for the benefit of all stakeholders including Saudi and other employees as well as local and international passengers.
