The Saudi Electricity Company and the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the eastern region of the Saudi kingdom will host the second convention on “Human Resource Development”. According to Sayidati magazine, specialists from Saudi Arabia, the UK, Kuwait, Bahrain and Ireland will participate in this event later this month.
Furthermore, a recent survey executed by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry regarding the employment of Saudi women in the local private sector showed that these women face several obstacles when seeking jobs in this sector.
According to the results of this survey, the obstacles facing women that are interested in joining the private sector include their relative inadequacy with regard to the requirements targeted by the private sector and the high cost of Saudi labor compared to expatriates. Additional obstacles facing these women are the dissatisfaction from job conditions and the difficulty of traveling from the home to the workplace. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
