Bahrain’s Investcorp has purchased MW Manufacturers (MW) from Fenway Partners, a private equity investment firm, for approximately $188 million. The transaction included the equity participation of MW's management as well as certain international investors organized by Investcorp.
MW is a manufacturer and distributor of windows and patio door products in the United States. In fiscal 2002, the company had revenues of approximately $214 million. A fund managed by Fenway controlled approximately 81 percent of MW.
Investcorp is a global investment group with offices in Bahrain, New York and London. The firm has four lines of business: corporate investment, real estate investment, asset management and technology investment. It was established in 1982 and has since completed transactions with an aggregate value of approximately $20 billion.
In the United States, Investcorp and its clients currently own corporate investments that include Neptune Technology Group, Jostens, Aero Products International, Harborside Healthcare and SI Corporation. In Europe, Investcorp and its clients currently own corporate investments that include Avecia, Gerresheimer Glas and Welcome Break. — (menareport.com)
