More than 2,000 passengers were still trapped in Ben Gurion international airport near Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning following an unexpected labor strike.
Airport employees walked off the job Tuesday, March 5, to protest against their management's pension schemes and refusal to hire temporary workers.
The strike continued Wednesday despite a requisition order by a labor tribunal. Airport management said however it was expected to end later in the day.
All flight departures were cancelled and incoming luggage was not being handled by the employees. — (AFP, Lod)
