Land Rover's flagship model helped drive sales for the British-based 4x4 manufacturer by 42 percent in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the first seven months of 2003 compared to the same period last year. Land Rover saw sales grow by 41 percent in 2002.
Sales of the Range Rover have rocketed by 52 percent in the Gulf, up until the end of July. The Discovery model continues to remain popular recording a 44 percent sales increase across the region from January to July 2003.
Dubai is the biggest GCC market for Land Rover followed by Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. In the two emerging markets, Bahrain saw its sales more than double, while Oman enjoyed a sizeable seven-month increase. — (menareport.com)
