Tourism is projected to create some 80,000 direct jobs and 400,000 indirect jobs by 2010, Morocco's Tourism Minister, Adil Douiri, conveyed Wednesday.
The Moroccan government intends to promote the kingdom's tourism industry to lure 10 million tourists by 2010. Last year, over five million tourists visited the north African country, mainly from France and Spain.
In an interview published Wednesday by Al Alam daily, Douiri noted that the accommodating capacity of hotels has significantly increased. Thanks to this, the income of the sector, which stood in 2004 at about US$ 370 million, was expected to rise.
