General Electric announced a $50 million contract recently signed with the Royal Air Force of Oman, providing for the supply of F110 engines to power F-16 fighter jets. Oman purchased 12 such jets from American aircraft manufacturer Lockheed Martin. The GE aircraft Engines is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2004.
This past February, General Electric and Pratt & Whitney (GE-P&W) signed a $1.5 billion deal to supply Middle East air carrier Emirates with engines for its 22 newly purchased Airbus super-jumbo jets. — (menareport.com)
