Al Bateen Executive Airport, the dedicated business aviation airport of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), announced today that 62% of the space allocated for Abu Dhabi Air Expo due to take place at the airport’s premises between the 6th- 8th March 2012 is already booked, five months ahead of the show. The registered exhibitors are amongst major international general aviation companies who will be coming to the Middle East for the first time. The Abu Dhabi Air Expo was launched by ADAC last August to be the first general aviation exhibition in the Middle East, the region’s version of Cannes Airshow.
Yousif Hassan Al Hammadi Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Abu Dhabi Air Expo, Deputy General Manager Al Bateen Executive Airport, said:
“During the National Business Aviation Association in Las Vegas, we were pleased to receive the interest by an important number of companies that are really keen to have a presence at the Middle East market. More than 62% of the allocated space has been already reserved and we are expecting more than 70 aircraft to be exhibited, including light sport aircraft, pistons, turbo prop, middle jet, and business jets.”
“All the General Aviation sectors will be represented during this first edition. Moreover, we are currently working with prestigious partners on developing workshops, as well as establishing the first Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) office for the Middle East, scheduled to open in March 2012” Al Hammadi added.
Located in the heart of the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi Air Expo will be the first general aviation trade show for Abu Dhabi bringing pilots over to witness firsthand what general aviation has to offer. From ultra-lights to transcontinental jets, including an array of services such as flight schools, equipment, pilot gears, and financing, Abu Dhabi Air Expo will be a platform for the major players in this developing sector to gather every year and share their latest innovations with a continuously growing audience.
