Abu Dhabi University’s Chancellor, Dr. Nabil Ibrahim was awarded for his “Outstanding Contribution to Education”, during the recent Asian Education Leadership Awards 2012 Ceremony that was held in Dubai. Hosted by the Asian Confederation of Businesses, the Asian Education Leadership Awards honors distinct educational leaders from various universities and educational institutions in recognition of their roles in the development and advancement of higher education in Asia.
Commenting on the award, Dr. Nabil Ibrahim Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University said: “It is such a great honor to be recognized by the Asian Education Leadership 2012 awards, and it’s really humbling to be chosen to join this elite group of outstanding educational leaders from over 40 countries, who are recognized for their contribution to the advancement of higher education. Such a prestigious recognition will be an incentive that drives us all to make further contributions to the field of education and strive to achieve the highest standards in education, teaching, management and leadership practices”.
Hailing from Purdue University, Calumet, USA Dr. Nabil Ibrahim was appointed Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University on December 2007. His 33 years of academic experience consists of assuming diverse roles and holding some important titles in various institutes such as San Jose State University, Bradley University, University of Manitoba, as well as Purdue, where he served as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ibrahim has attracted over $112 Million in research and development grants and contracts, served as principal investigator to some 35 technical projects, produced 57 publications and conference presentations, developed a number of laboratories and produced numerous student theses. In addition, he holds two US patents in Advanced Materials Engineering.
