In celebration of Jordan’s 68th Independence Day anniversary, Airport International Group (AIG), the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), has carried out several activities at QAIA on Thursday 22 and Sunday 25 May, 2014, offering travelers and guests a glimpse of authentic Jordanian customs.
As part of the festivities, AIG employees wore branded Independence Day t-shirts, served Arabic coffee and distributed the Jordanian Hattah headdress - both of which are traditional symbols of Jordan’s heritage - to passengers traveling through QAIA. AIG also brought in the popular national folklore entertainers, Turath Ma’an Group, who performed a live dabke dance in front of airport-goers.
“Jordan is renowned worldwide for its warm hospitality, rich culture and vibrant history, and as the Kingdom’s prime gateway to the world, we sought to make this day a truly memorable experience,” commented AIG CEO Kjeld Binger. “I would like to thank our partners for helping us make the celebrations a remarkable success, as well as wish my fellow colleagues and Jordanians around the world a very happy Independence Day.”
