In keeping with tradition, Dubai Aluminium, DUBAL, hosted a corporate Golf Day at Emirates Golf Club on Monday 4 February 2013, the Mixed Scramble tournament being played on the Majlis Course where the four-day 2013 Omega Dubai Desert Classic, the Omega DDC, drew to an exciting close just one day earlier. The event provided a relaxed environment, away from the pressure and tension of work, giving DUBAL’s customers, suppliers and other stakeholders the opportunity to mingle and interact with DUBAL personnel.
Hosted by Walid Al Attar (Executive Vice President: Marketing & Sales), the DUBAL Golf Day is an integral component of the company’s partnership-building activities coincident with the Omega DDC each year. “DUBAL has been a major sponsor of the Omega DDC since 1992, making this our 22nd consecutive year of involvement in this internationally acclaimed event,” explains Al Attar. “With our support, the Omega DDC has evolved over the years into world-class tournament that attracts the world’s best golfers. At the same time, the Omega DDC has successfully promoted Dubai as a leisure and business destination; and become a recognised generator of income and employment in the Emirate. We have leveraged this by inviting our customers and representatives from across the globe to join us at the Omega DDC, then using the opportunity to build on our existing long-term relationships and consolidate our business plans together.”
It’s a strategy that continues to pay off. “Our customers are intensely loyal to DUBAL, such that we have dealt with many of them since our company’s inception in 1979,” adds Al Attar. “Given the increasingly competitive nature of world and regional markets, this is an advantage that we nurture with pride.”
As in prior years, the first teams in DUBAL Golf Day tee-ed off at 08:30 such that all 23 teams (a total of 115 players) had completed their rounds in time for lunch and coincident presentation of the prizes. Speaking at the prize-giving, DUBAL’s Walid Al Attar (Executive Vice President: Marketing and Sales) thanked everyone for participating and reiterated DUBAL’s gratitude towards its valued customers, suppliers and other business associates. He acknowledged the long-standing relationships and loyalty upon which DUBAL has been built, and wished everyone a successful 2013. “Some great golf was played here today, which has helped strengthen the business ties between the players in each team, to our mutual benefit,” Al Attar said. “We look forward to continuing to work closely with all our stakeholders for many years to come.”
