Concorde Fujairah, a luxury accommodation in the heart of the city, was awarded silver medal for the Individual Arabic Dish Static Main Course category at the recently concluded 1st East Coast Culinary & Live Cocktail Competition held in Fujairah.
Chef Youssef Ait Kassi was awarded silver medal for his Naghar Mahshe (Stuffed Squid) dish entry while Executive Chef Mohamed Mosbah received a Marshal Award. Chef Kassi along with Chef Alfonzo Tolosa, Chef Glen Pascual and Chef Andrew Rosario participated in the event where more than 100 participants from the hotels and resorts in the East Coast displayed their culinary skills.
The entries were judged by celebrity chefs and bar managers from across the UAE based on 10 categories namely Individual Fish/Seafood Static, Individual Meal/Lam Static, Individual Arabic Dish Static (Main Course), Individual Pastry Static, Individual Pastry Static (Arabic), Bread Loaves & Showpiece, Open Showpiece, Pastry Showpiece, Chocolate Carving Showpiece and Vegetable Carving Showpiece.
Chef Kassi said: “I am very honoured to receive this award because it recognised my skills and all my hard work. I would like to thank the judges for this award and would like to share it with the rest of my colleagues who also put in their efforts and the management for their support!”

Organised for the first time in the emirate of Fujairah, the event is supported by the Emirates Culinary Guild (ECG) and World’s Association of Chef’s Societies (WACS).
