In light of Dubai Customs keenness to be finely updated with the DGEP standards pertaining the Most Committed Government Agency to the National Identity, Dubai Customs organized an introductory seminar on the matter in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Executive Council and the Public Prosecution of Dubai. This event aligns with the DC effective efforts to take part under the different categories of Dubai Government Excellence Program, especially in this crucial category, while maintaining a closer grasp on previous experiences and best practices in this field.
H.E Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, received at his office both Counsellor Mohammed Rustom, Head of Family and Juvenile Prosecution and Hazza Al Nuaimi, Senior Manager of Excellence Initiatives of DGEP at the Secretariat General of the Executive Council.
Ahmed Mahboob, expressed his gratification of such means of cooperation and exchange of practical experience and expertise amongst government entities that would take Dubai Government performance towards the extra mile of excellence. He also extended his gratitude for both of the distinguished guests for delivering two lectures on the National Identity before a host of DC employees.
Attending this seminar from Dubai Customs were Ahmed Kazim, Director of Strategy and Corporate Excellence Department and Khalil Saqer, Director of Corporate Communication Department, alongside other officials and staff. Khalil Saqer said, “The holding of this seminar is mainly driven by the DC commitment towards investing in the human capital, training them to become an effective and influential agent in achieving societal development, as well as in further instilling the values of national identity, loyalty and devotion.
At the opening of the Seminar, Mr. Hazza Al Nuaimi, addressed the audience with a general overview on the Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP) Then he listed the 27 excellence categories of the program that were set 17 years ago. Afterwards he elaborated on the criteria of the Most Committed Government Agency to the National Identity, developed under the directives of H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, to support the National Identity Initiative at government entities. This initiative aims at selecting and honouring the distinguished government entity in terms of supporting the National Identity under the Special Honoring category of DGEP awards.
Mr. Hazza Al Nuami further explained the four main criteria of this category, which are Arabic language, General appearance, Social initiatives and Emiratisation, whereas the mechanisms of nomination include Pilot interviews, Field visits, Selected winner recommendation, and the Jury.
On his part, Counsellor Mohammed Rustom, Head of Family and Juvenile Prosecution, provided a highlight over the Public Prosecution – last year winner of the national identity category - experience in applying the program criteria.
He pointed out that the Public Prosecution is following the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in benefiting from the experiences of the others and cascading expertise and best practices amongst Dubai’s Government entities. He then showcased the Public Prosecution mechanism in the application of each DGEP criteria under the Most Committed Government Agency to the National Identity category.
