Emaar Properties PJSC, the Dubai-based developer of iconic projects such as Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination, is putting the spotlight on its advanced project development competencies and new projects in key international markets at MIPIM 2014, the world’s premium property event, held from March 11 to 14, 2014, in Cannes, France.
The highlight of Emaar’s participation at MIPIM is a spectacular showcase of Downtown Dubai, the 500-acre mega development billed as ‘The Centre of Now’ and its different lifestyle components including Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall, and The Dubai Fountain, the world’s tallest performing fountain.
Emaar will also present The Opera District, located centrally in Downtown Dubai, which will captivate visitors with its Dubai Opera, a 2000-seat multipurpose performing arts centre, inspired by the city’s maritime history. The Opera District will also feature luxury hotels, elegantly designed residential and serviced apartments, a retail plaza, restaurants, waterfront promenades, recreational spaces, and parks.
Emaar will underline the strong economic impact of Downtown Dubai, which contributes to the growth of the city’s retail, tourism and hospitality sectors. The Dubai Mall, one of the key components of Downtown Dubai, welcomed over 75 million visitors in 2013, defining its credentials as the world’s most visited shopping and entertainment destination.
The investment proposition within Downtown Dubai’s new residential developments, including luxury serviced residences, will also be highlighted. Among the new project launches in Downtown Dubai that have gained strong international investor interest include: The Address Residence Sky View; The Address Residence Fountain Views I, II and III; Vida Residence Downtown Dubai; Burj Vista; and Boulevard Point.
With a significant presence in several key global markets already, Emaar will also present its international project portfolio at MIPIM 2014. Among the showcase is Emaar Square in Istanbul, a new lifestyle and business hub. It will comprise over 1,000 luxury homes, a 180-room five-star hotel, high and low-rise residences and a world-class shopping mall. One of the largest in Turkey, Emaar Square Shopping Mall is the trophy asset within the development with 1.6 million sq ft of leasable space, and a wide range of leisure and entertainment facilities including 400 shops, restaurants and cafes.
Robert Booth, Chief Executive Officer – Emaar Dubai Real Estate, said: “Emaar’s showcase at MIPIM 2014 highlights our credentials as a global developer of iconic properties that transform the economies we operate in. Our highly successful ‘Downtown Dubai’ model takes a truly special place, led by its contribution in boosting Dubai’s core economic sectors.
“Additionally, we are supporting Dubai’s ambition to become the region’s cultural hub with the launch of The Opera District. Emaar’s projects also complement Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020, announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to welcome 20 million visitors by the turn of the decade.”
Amit Jain, Group Chief Financial Officer of Emaar Properties, said: “Led by strong financial fundamentals, Emaar is focused on a growth strategy of expanding to key markets internationally and strengthening our core businesses. In Dubai and other international markets, we have set a strong track-record in project delivery that has strengthened investor confidence.
“With Dubai set to make impressive growth strides as it prepares to host the World Expo 2020, international interest in our projects is further gaining strength. The economy of Dubai is set to more than double with ambitious infrastructure projects currently ongoing to host the global event. MIPIM serves as a platform for international visitors to gain a strong overview of the investment opportunities in our developments.”
Robert Booth will participate in MIPIM’s main forum, ‘The Big Debate: Change Perspectives?,’ joining international industry experts to discuss the vision for the built environment in the next 25 years.
Emaar will also host four talks, two on Dubai Opera by Janus Rostock of WS Atkins, the multinational engineering, design, planning, project management and consulting services company; and two on Burj Khalifa by George Efstathiou of Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill (SOM), the architects and engineers behind the vision of the magnificent development.
Emaar is also sponsoring the Jubilee Concert to be held on March 12, celebrating the 25th anniversary of MIPIM.
