In celebration of Hilton Worldwide’s second annual Global Week of Service, October 6 – 12, more than 50 volunteers from Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, Al Hamra Fort Hotel & Beach Resort, Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa, Double Tree by Hilton Ras Al Khaimah and Hilton Ras Al Khaimah showed their support for Al Rahmah Orphanage. Community service is a tradition embedded in Hilton Worldwide’s culture, and acts of volunteerism occur year-round across ten distinct brands and 4,000 properties. Ras Al Khaimah’s efforts are a part of Hilton Worldwide’s week-long celebration of the company’s commitment to serving the communities where we live, work and travel.
“Al Rahmah is a local orphanage caring forchildren in Ras Al Khaimah,” said MohabGhali,country manager at Hilton Worldwide Ras Al Khaimah. “As part of Global Week of Service, and as a long standing and proud member of Ras Al Khaimah’s community, it is gratifying to see so many team members from across the Emirate’s hotels combiningtheir efforts to support the orphanage and tomake a notable difference to the lives of these young children. We are honored to work hand in hand with this worthwhile project to help enrich the lives and welfareoftoday’s youth in Ras Al Khaimah.”
Painting, gardening and sprucing up the surroundings, thededicated volunteers took part in the restoration of the orphanage garden and play areas,whilst also sharing nourishing meals for all of the children cared for at the orphanage. The volunteers ensured the youngsters were in high spirits throughout the day as they reveled in the fun entertainment on offer, including face painting and a bouncy castle.
Amna Mohamed Alshehhi., a representative from Al Rahmah Orphanage said, “The generosity of Hilton hotels is both inspirational and instrumental in creating a safe and fun-filled environment fit for these growing children. In years to come, I hope many more can benefit from Hilton Worldwide’s spirit of generosity.”

In 2012, during Hilton Worldwide’s inaugural Global Week of Service, Team Members at more than 600 properties and offices completed more than 800 volunteer projects in 401 cities across the company’s global footprint. The projects focused on engaging Team Members and delivering on Hilton Worldwide’s commitment to Travel with Purpose by creating opportunities, strengthening communities, celebrating cultures and living sustainably. This year, the company aims to build upon this community engagement and is striving to complete more than 1,200 service projects.
