Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea and the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD) announced the launch of Holiday Inn Resort Academy in a press conference that was conducted at Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea.
During the press conference, it was announced that an MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) was signed between Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea and the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development to set a strategy for the Holiday Inn Resort Academy. The aim is to create and provide job opportunities that can transform lives of the youth aged between 18 and 24 years. At Holiday Inn Resort Academy, the trainees from the local community will be exposed to both theoretical and practical methods of education.
Mr. Mazen Abu Sakha, General Manager of Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea and Dr. Sawsan Al Majali, Director of Zeinid & deputy executive director of JOHUD,both spoke at the press conference, and expressed their happiness to be partners in such an important initiative that aims at minimizing the gap between work requirements of the hospitality sector and what is offered by the workforce, and consequently decreasing the percentage of unemployment in the community.
The launch of the Holiday Inn Resort Academy is part of Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy that aims at enhancing and expanding its role within the local community. Twenty young trainees have been selected to be part of the Holiday Inn Resort Academy, and they will be distributed in many vital departments in the resort, such as Housekeeping, Kitchen, Food & Beverage and Laundry, as well as attending classes in which theoretical courses will be delivered.
