As part of its commitment to support environmental projects in Dubai, Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities management solutions in the UAE, has announced its cooperation with Dubai Municipality for its pilot initiative ‘My City, My Environment’. Launched during a recently held press conference at the Dubai Municipality main building, this initiative aims to encourage households to recycle and segregate their wastes. Under the initiative, Imdaad will deploy two 240-litre waste bins (black for general waste and green for mixed recyclables) to each villa in Mazhar 1 area, while community recycling bins will be placed at strategic locations identified in coordination with Dubai Municipality.
Imdaad will collect general waste daily and recyclables three times a week, while door-to-door campaigns will also be conducted to increase awareness about the importance of recycling and segregating waste. Imdaad will also submit monthly reports detailing the total weight of recyclables collected and the volume of general waste collected. Residents will also be encouraged to share ideas and suggestions through surveys, which will be used to further enhance the quality of services being delivered.
Mahmood Rasheed, COO, Imdaad, said: “Environmental protection and conservation initiatives must gain strong support from within the grassroots level to be able to achieve optimum results. Dubai Municipality is therefore moving in the right direction with the ‘My City, My environment’ project as it encourages homeowners to recycle and segregate their wastes. Imdaad extends full support to the initiative as it complements our continuing thrust to promote environmental stewardship through our wide range of sustainable facilities management solutions.”
