Jumbo Electronics, the UAE-based consumer electronics giant, today confirmed its participation in this year’s GITEX at both, GITEX Shopper and GITEX Technology Week. Associated with GITEX Shopper since inception, Jumbo will offer the latest, trend-setting products in the industry and will also be present at GITEX Technology Week with the participation of Jumbo-EAJ, the enterprise solutions division of the company.
“GITEX Shopper is an extremely important event for us because it gives us the opportunity to connect with customers and is also a great indicator of which products are in highest demand. Along with deals for some great value offers, we also look forward to launching new products at the event,” said Deepak Khetrapal, CEO, Jumbo Electronics. “Though sales are important, GITEX Shopper also gives us the opportunity to reach out to our customers beyond our stores. We will have exciting activities at this year’s event that will help visitors interact with the Jumbo brand.”
Last year, Jumbo recorded a double digit per cent increase in sales at GITEX Shopper and looks to out perform that at this year’s event, especially with a high demand for laptops and tablets. While traditionally Jumbo has only been associated with Shopper at GITEX, the participation of Jumbo-EAJ at GITEX Technology Week is line with the company’s aim to strengthen its non-retail divisions.
Khetrapal added, “We are excited about Jumbo-EAJ’s participation at GITEX Technology Week. Having established ourselves as the leading consumer electronics distributor in the UAE, the growth of Jumbo-EAJ reflects our strategy of expanding beyond our retail business. Currently, non-retail segments account for three quarters of Jumbo’s overall business.”
Jumbo-EAJ provides design, building, network consulting and innovative IT hardware and software solutions across various industries, including hospitality, retail, education, healthcare and finance. Jumbo-EAJ’s key partners include Ricoh, HP, Brother, Lenovo Casio, Jumbo-EAJ will be show casing its offerings in the area of Managed Document Services and Retail Solutions.
Along with the growth of its enterprise solutions division, Jumbo has plans to expand its consumer appliances’ strengths through its Supra brand, leveraging its strong distribution capabilities.
