Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) announced the signing of a cooperation agreement which will see Qtel become the Telecom Sponsor of AZF’s brand new step into health Program, which will officially kick off on December 22.
Created by AZF to tackle growing health issues in the country by promoting and facilitating an active lifestyle for Qatar’s society, step into health is set to encourage the community to get fit by walking every day, and increasing the amount they walk gradually.
Aiming to inspire individuals to become more active in a social, recreational and non-competitive way, the Program will provide registered participants with complimentary pedometer devices, which are linked to a dynamic free online application that enables participants to monitor their progress and get useful health and nutrition tips.
Mr. Ibrahim Al Darwish, COO of Aspetar, remarked: “Aspire Zone Foundation is inspiring the nation to walk to fitness. Through our vast resources, knowledge and expertise, we will help the people of Qatar to easily apply a more active lifestyle in their daily lives.”
“We are absolutely delighted to have Qatar’s leading telecommunications company working alongside Aspire Zone,” Al Darwish highlighted.
Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Thani, Head of Corporate Sales at Qtel, remarked on the program: ““Qtel is a major supporter of sport and healthy lifestyles for people throughout Qatar, in-line with the national vision. The launch of step into health provides an important opportunity for people of all ages to get more involved and take small steps to a healthier future.”
“We are particularly pleased to be involved in this campaign because of its use of dynamic mobile technology to enable people to track their progress and reach their fitness goals,” he added.
