Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, a premier destination for business and leisure travellers, recognised the organisations from the government and private sectors who supported the Zero Landfilll Project. Following the successful launch of the initiative, the property has generated positive feedback and reinforcement from key entities in the emirate including Ajman Municipality Environment Department and Ajman Chamber of Commerce.
To express gratitude, Iftikhar Hamdami, General Manager, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, awarded plaques of appreciation to both organisations and commented: “The property is sincerely grateful for the support that these organisations has rendered to us. They encouraged us to continue with our commitment in promoting recycling and other sustainable measures to help preserve the environment.”
On receiving the award, Engr. Khalid Moin Al Hosani, Executive Director, Public Health and Environment of Ajman Municipality, said: “We thank Ramada Ajman for this recognition and we look forward to more environmental initiatives in Ajman, especially in the hospitality and tourism sector.”
Another recipient, Abdalla Omar Al-Marzooqi, Assistant Director General Ajman Chamber of Commerce, commented: “We greatly appreciate the efforts that Ramada Ajman is doing to sustain a clean and healthy environment. We hope that their Zero Landfill project will encourage others to carry out similar initiatives.”
The Zero Landfill Project, which was the first amongst the hotels in the UAE, was initiated by Ramada Ajman to achieve 90% waste diversion from the landfill through the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle approach in waste management.
