SMART Technologies, a leading provider of collaboration solutions, announces that it has named more than 100 SMART Showcase Schools in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). A total of 110 schools throughout the region have been recognized for using SMART education solutions to effectively support teaching and learning. All the SMART Showcase Schools were chosen for their commitment to integrating SMART’s interactive technology products into classrooms to engage students and improve learning outcomes. Educators at these schools share their experiences with peers in other institutions who are interested in learning more about SMART solutions. The schools have incorporated a variety of SMART products into their classrooms, including the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, SMART Document Camera™, SMART Response™ interactive response system, SMART Audio classroom amplification system, SMART Notebook™ collaborative learning software, SMART Bridgit conferencing software and SMART Notebook Math Tools software.
Since the program was introduced in 2006, over 300 SMART Showcase Schools have been recognized globally. These schools have eagerly shared their SMART success stories with countless visitors and have been instrumental in encouraging a broad adoption of SMART education solutions in all types of learning environments across all levels and subjects. Educators at SMART Showcase Schools benefit from the daily use of SMART products and report improved student engagement, lesson comprehension and learning outcomes as a result.
SMART Showcase Schools are representative of the growing number of schools and districts around the world using SMART education solutions effectively. This growth is especially strong in EMEA, where almost half the recognized schools are located. In March 2009, SMART named the Zurich International School the first SMART Showcase School in EMEA, and in less than three years, over 100 additional SMART Showcase Schools have been designated in the region. The SMART Showcase Schools program has been well received by administrators and teachers who embrace classroom technology and increasingly use SMART products to engage learners of all ages. SMART will continue to name SMART Showcase Schools throughout EMEA and around the world.
“Surpassing 100 SMART Showcase Schools in EMEA highlights the growing number of schools that are embracing interactive technology and choosing SMART products for their classrooms,” says Patrick Lelorieux, Vice President and General Manager, EMEA, SMART Technologies. “Schools are increasingly committed to the effective integration of SMART education solutions and recognize the benefits for both students and teachers.”
