Dubai eGovernment Department recently received a delegation from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Department's headquarters at H.H. Dubai Ruler's Court, where Dubai eGovernment showcased its leading experience of implementing its integrated eSuggest, eComplain and eCorrespondence systems. It also underlined its role in enhancing corporate performance by offering an integrated work mechanism to promote creativity, transparency and excellence in the delivery of e-services at the highest levels of reliability and security.
The visit is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to tap into Dubai eGovernment’s leading electronic transformation experience and integrated methodology in offering electronic and shared services to facilitate government transactions with the public and corporate community.
H.E. Ahmed Bin Humaidan, Director General of Dubai eGovernment, along with other senior officials and managers, welcomed the visiting delegation from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs that comprised H.E. Dr. Saeed Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Advisor to the Minister, Information Systems; H.E. Talal Mohammed Al Tunaiji, Department Manager, Strategic Planning & Organizational Excellence; Mariam Al Blooshi, Head of IT Project Management; Rashid Al Ketbi, Head of Communication Section, Operations Division; Mohammed Saed Almheiri, National Affairs Division; Salman Khan, Strategic Planning Department and Ashraf Al Anati, IT Department.
H.E. Bin Humaidan outlined the importance of mutual visits between government entities to exchange expertise, under the leadership’s directives calling for better intra-government relations and integration. “We are delighted to have met with the delegation from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, introducing them to our systems which act as a key pillar to raise the bar on eServices by adopting the highest standards of creativity, innovation and digital integration; thereby contributing to the country’s eTransformation. We will remain steadfast in our commitment to promote effective communication channels with all relevant government, local and federal entities to share best practices, experiences and capacities. Leveraging on Dubai eGovernment’s pioneering experience in the field of government services; we look forward to developing better eServices and contributing to the national efforts aimed at reinforcing the UAE’s leading knowledge-based economy, under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.”
H.E. Bin Humaidan further highlighted the accomplishments of Dubai eGovernment since its launch in 2000 and the establishment of the Dubai eGovernment Department in 2009, underscoring some of its key methodologies in offering eServices to Dubai-based government authorities.
The visiting delegation was given a detailed presentation on the two unified systems; eSuggest and eComplain, underlining their critical value to improve government services by enabling the receipt, study and analysis of complaints and creative suggestions of employees and customers. The delegation was also able to get a more in-depth look into the structure of both systems that are collectively supervised by government entities, Dubai eGovernment and the General Secretariat of Dubai Executive Council, under a unified work system that aims to make the lives of customers easier. The presentation further talked about the eCorrespondence service which provides an advanced electronic platform for the management of outgoing and incoming government correspondences; thereby promoting electronic interrelation among participating government departments.
Wissam Lootah, Assistant Director-General, and Sumaia Bin Hammad, Director of Communications and Business Development, Dubai eGovernment, explained the methodologies adopted by Dubai eGovernment to lead the eTransformation process in Dubai and therefore achieve its broader goal of building an “integrated government” and implementing its “integrated eService platform” that was launched at GITEX 2012. They further stressed on the recently unified central services and the international best practices across government entities, which significantly contributed to Dubai eGovernment’s call for eTransformation to create an interrelated government.
The visiting delegation was also introduced to the Department’s other eServices, such as ePay, mPay, mDubai, eSurvey, Ask Dubai, eHost and GeSS, in addition to the infrastructure-related shared services designed to improve the quality of services and ensure integration across all electronic systems to help government entities reach higher levels of excellence and accomplishment.
For its part, the delegation lauded the great achievements made by Dubai eGovernment in the past few years, stressing on the need to leverage its leading experiences in developing government services to meet client expectations. They also emphasized the need to conduct more bilateral meetings which serve as ideal platforms to benefit from the best practices, capacities and wider expertise of Dubai eGovernment, which are highly reflected in its role as a key contributor to government integration and eTransformation in Dubai and the UAE.
