Billionaire Saudi Prince Al-Walid Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz will build 50 new mosques in his country, where he has already funded the construction of 39 mosques, his company said Saturday, December 1.
The new mosques will cost around 34 million riyals ($900,000), said a statement by the prince's Kingdom Holding group. Eighteen of the mosques will be built in Riyadh, nine in Assir, five in Mecca and three in Medina, it said.
Prince Walid, a nephew of Saudi Arabia's King Fahd, has amassed a personal fortune of $20.3 billion and is ranked as the world's sixth wealthiest entrepreneur by the US magazine Forbes. — (AFP, Riyadh)
