Qatar and Cuba have agreed to form a joint committee to boost links, at the end of a visit by Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque, the official QNA news agency reported Sunday, April 1.
It said Roque and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Al-Thani signed a memorandum of understanding on Saturday.
The Cuban envoy met the emir, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, during his two-day visit and delivered a message from President Fidel Castro on "the means to boost cooperation between the two countries in different areas."
Sheikh Hamad in September became the first Gulf Arab monarch to pay an official visit to Cuba. — (AFP, Doha)
