Marriott International Company sales managers gathered earlier this week at the Doha Marriott as part of an annual forum to exchange views on possible means of improving the Marriott's service and activity qualities. The event included a festive dinner with the participation of leading businessmen and representatives drawn from Gulf travel, tourism and airline companies, Al-Raya Daily reported.
Company Deputy for Worldwide Sales, Mr. Samir Daqaq, headed the international Marriott delegation. Mr. Daqaq conveyed that the meeting in Qatar fell within the framework of an initiative launched by Marriott International in 1998, which aimed at providing increased opportunities for Marriott managers and representatives to interact and brainstorm on new ideas. Daqaq added that the international hotel chain achieved profits of $8.7 billion in 1999.
