A high-ranking official in Pakistan’s Ministry of Oil and Natural Resources has revealed that the government recently received a proposal for the construction of a gas pipeline between Qatar and Pakistan.
According to Al-Watan daily, under the agreement, a 1,610-kilometer long, $3.2 billion pipeline would connect the two countries. The official added that the proposal, submitted by the Sharjah based Al-Hilal Oil Company, is presently being evaluated by the government.
Furthermore, Pakistan was lately offered $8 billion by Iran to run a 2,672-kilometer long pipeline through Pakistani territory en route from Iran to India for the transport of Iranian gas. Under the agreement, Pakistan would be obliged to protect the pipeline. –(MENA Report)
