Qatar's emir, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, received a message Sunday, July 8, from Thailand's Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on bilateral cooperation, the official QNA news agency reported Sunday.
The message was delivered by Thailand's Foreign Minister Surakiart Sathirathai, who was on a visit to Doha with a delegation of Thai businessmen.
The two sides reviewed the possibility of Thai businesses becoming involved in development projects in the Gulf emirate, which boasts the world's third largest gas reserves.
Sathirathai raised the possibility of more Thai laborers working in Qatar, where there are presently 1,200 Thai workers, QNA said. ― (AFP, Qatar)
