The Saudi Compaq Computers Company and the Saudi Oracle Company have recently launched a joint customer service center in Oracle’s headquarters in Riyadh, reported the London based Al Hayat.
The main objective of the new center is to provide efficient e-commerce solutions to companies operating throughout Saudi Arabia. However, the center will offer technological assistance to local individual customers as well.
The companies plan to set up later on a strategic partnership on a regional basis, with the objective of offering e-commerce solutions to clients in the Middle East.
A recently published study showed that the Middle East controls merely 0.7 percent of the world electronic commerce exchanges. The study estimated the electronic commerce market in the Arabian Gulf states at seven billion Saudi Riyals ($1.87 billion). The same report lists the growth rate of regional e-commerce market at 30 percent.— (MENA Report)
