Turkey’s Industrial production increased by 7.2 percent this past August. Manufacturing recorded the largest increase at 8.7 percent with electricity, gas and hydro coming in second at 4.8 percent, reported the State Institute of Statistics (DIE).
In December 2001, Turkey launched a series of measures to help speed up a recovery in the country's industrial and commercial sectors, badly hit by a severe economic crisis that has plagued the country since February.
