Hamptons International, the 125-year-old real British estate specialist, is opening an office in Muscat, Oman, as part of an overall plan to spread its network into the Gulf region. Hamptons currently operates branches in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Portugal the Caribbean, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Channel Islands.
Hamptons International is best known as a real estate agency specializing in both the sale and rental of exclusive properties. It also is involved in property and facilities management, valuations, research and feasibility assignment.
According to Christopher Steel, Hampton’s general manager, the company is setting up in Oman at this stage, because in its opinion the Omani real estate market is set to assume an upward trend. The increased diversification plans for the economy together, coupled with a with relaxation of foreign investment criteria, will directly translate into a more stable property market, he told the Times of Oman.
The company plans to be visibly active in the Omani residential market, Steel said. It also will be offering specialist consultancy services to local investors, who may be looking to put their money in either domestic property holdings or overseas real estate, he said. – (Albawaba-MEBG)
