A World Bank delegation is due to arrive in Amman next week to review and evaluate progress in training and employment projects funded by the organization, reported the official Petra news agency on Monday, March 2.
The delegation will hold talks with officials at the ministries of planning, labor and education as well as the national center for human resources development, reported the agency.
In January, the private investment arm of the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), announced its intention to invest $15 million in loans and equity, in order to transform Jordan into an international center for luggage manufacturing operations.
The project is to create thousands of jobs and give a major boost to Jordan’s export industries, an online press release stated at that time. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
