Canon Middle East, world leader in imaging solutions, has today launched two new flagship A4 colour All-In-One devices. Built using colour imaging technology found on Canon’s high-end colour multifunction devices (MFDs) and designed to deliver high-quality colour laser output, the Canon i-SENSYS MF9220Cdn and MF9280Cdn offer scan, print, fax and copy functionality for demanding small office and workgroup environments.
“We wanted to introduce devices that could meet the needs of smaller businesses and workgroups and meet the growing demand for colour in the office, whilst maintaining the same leading technology as our high-end MFDs. The introduction of the i-SENSYS MF9220Cdn and MF9280Cdn allows for a unique combination of superb quality, high productivity, and high levels of usability in a desktop-sized unit,” says Bittu Mattam, Product Manager, Canon Middle East.
“The new range now offers customers a clear choice when making a decision on which laser desktop to buy for their businesses. With these two models, Canon brings the highest imaging standards to every user but with a level of functionality that is designed to perfectly suit their requirements,” adds Mattam.
The new, network-ready models can be shared amongst users to boost productivity and ensure an easy and cost effective route to colour for smaller workgroups. Built on the same reliable engines as its predecessors – the Canon i-SENSYS MF8450, MF9130 and MF9170 – the i-SENSYS MF9220Cdn and MF9280Cdn are ideal for producing stunning looking business documents and prints for brochures, leaflets and presentations.
The two models are aimed at businesses with different user requirements. The i-SENSYS MF9220Cdn is ideal for small organisations looking to introduce colour in a cost effective and simple-to-operate format. The i-SENSYS MF9280Cdn offers the same features but with the addition of PCL and PostScript Level 3 capabilities to cater for larger corporates or workgroups within organisations with managed IT infrastructures. The MF9280Cdn also offers direct printing from memory cards.
The two new additions to Canon’s i-SENSYS range are energy efficient with low power consumption and have an EnergyStar certified Typical Energy Consumption of just 2.3 KWh. All consumable parts are contained in four, easy-to-change colour cartridges, so every time a new cartridge is inserted, the vital parts most prone to wear and tear are replaced.
An intuitive graphical interface and graphical wizards make setup, navigating menus and troubleshooting on the 3.5in (8.8cm) TFT display simple and quick. The powerful SEND functionality allows sharing of high quality documents via network and email and with LDAP support now available, this process is made even easier. The Remote User Interface also makes administration easy. Canon’s compact PDF technology also converts documents to 1/20th the size of the original for scanning direct to email, a networked server or a USB memory key.
Canon’s Quick First-Print and on-demand fixing technology enables quick warm-up times from Sleep Mode to output of the first print. A Double-Sided Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) and automatic double-sided printing ensures maximum productivity by offering full input and output duplex print, scan, copy and fax capabilities.
The superior print resolution produces exceptional colour consistency and accuracy, even when handling difficult images such as skin tones and nuanced, shaded areas, enabling high quality reproductions for the office. With speeds of up to 21ppm in both colour and black and white, the Canon i-SENSYS MF9220Cdn and MF9280Cdn also have a rapid First Copy Out time, enhancing the productivity of the devices.
The 850-sheet paper facility (including an optional 500-sheet pedestal) and high yield capacity of the toners also ensures the devices are particularly beneficial to workgroups with higher printing volumes, at the same time offering a low Total Cost of Ownership over the life of the products.
The Canon i-SENSYS MF9220Cdn and MF9280Cdn will be available across MENA region from February 2011.
